Musings: Creating a Gallery Wall

Ah! Does it take anyone else forever to put pictures on your walls? I seem to wait until a room is somewhat settled before committing to holes in the drywall. Over the weekend, I created a gallery wall. And now there is a certain feeling that I get when walking into this room that I didn’t have before. It’s an “Ah, that suits me” sort of feeling, know what I mean?

Some of the artwork pieces were in the house when we bought it, others are old prints and paintings I did in art school, and others are just empty frames. By laying the items on a large expanse of floor, I put them in an arrangement that seemed well-proportioned. And then I started with the screenprint at the top middle and went out and down from there. In about 20 minutes, they were all up and I managed to make only two extra holes.
