Title: Leather Abstract 2

by Angella Eisman

Artist notes: Inspired by the Ocean Park series of American artist Richard Diebenkorn, this series of abstracts give the feel of a bird’s eye view over a patchwork of land below. These pieces also point back to my early years of growing up in the rich farmland of midwestern United States. I enjoy exploring this patchwork effect caused by the expanse of fields, change of crops with the seasons, and the geometric shapes that are formed–ever changing with time and development.

Artist bio: Hello, my name is Angella Eisman and I’m a former print designer and illustrator based in Charlotte, NC. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in fine art, I began my career designing logos, websites, and product catalogs. My time in the industry also gave me experience in photography and illustration. My experience in marketing products later translated into designing and selling my own small product lines of children’s clothing, women’s accessories, and sewn home decor. I’ve enjoyed continuing that sewn aspect into my fine art series of gallery wrapped leather artwork and, because artists often can’t say no to all the art supplies, I also work with watercolor, cyanotype, oil, acrylic and mixed media. In my free time, you will find me enjoying time with my husband while cheering on our four children at their many activities.
