Thrift Finds: Mission-style Chair and Antique Clothing Rounder
A few fun finds to share today:
I picked up this old clothing rounder at the same auction as the old settee. Only one person bid against me so I managed a better price than I planned. This might be useful in my display at the Southern Christmas Show in November. It is cast iron and very cool!
This chair was an odd find from a humane society garage sale way out here in the hills of North Carolina. You find old furniture out here but usually more Victorian or primitive styles. This chair is not by the well-known Stickley family unfortunately, but it is an authentic arts and crafts period piece.
Last one for today! I love this one. This tiered wire basket plant stand has such a sculptural look. It is missing one of the baskets on the middle tier but it isn’t that noticeable. I think it has way more uses than a plant stand. Imagine it at a rustic farm wedding. With burlap and flowers, it could be a fun centerpiece or place to display party favors. It is pretty tall so would make a good focal point.
