Musings: Autumn in North Carolina
It’s been a flurry of activity around here. I feel like I have a roll of packaging tape permanently attached to my hand. Thank you again to everyone who has placed orders. I’m pleased to say that all orders have been going out in really good time and I hope many of you are enjoying your scarves and pillows already!
After a busy week, it felt great to get outside this past weekend. We raked leaves and picked up fallen apples…just general yard clean up that was both very needed for the property but also for us.
I worked long enough to get a good size blister and then took a break with my camera for a few minutes. It really is a beautiful time of year.
So many people love Autumn most and it is certainly understandable. I just wish all these colors weren’t so short lived!
Write this down: October 13. If you want to come to the NC high country for fall photos…a drive on the Blue Ridge parkway within a couple days of October 13 should be smack dab on the money. We’ve only been here for 3 autumns but each one… October 13th has been the day of all days the past 3 years. The angels sing on that day if you know what I mean.
It was just a couple days past the angels singing day for these photos and the leaves have been falling fast, but you can see that there is still gorgeous color to be found…just not THE gorgeous all at once color that was a few days ago as lots of trees are nearly bare already. These shots were taken with my Nikon D90 and trusty 50mm lens. It’s my go-to lens for close-ups. And inexpensive too. I love the ethereal look.
I hope you are enjoying the season!
